Hi! My name is Tamar. I live in Venice, Italy. We used to live in Israel but we moved here when I was two months old to teach the Jews in Venice more about Judaism. Venice is an unusual city built on water! I go to school by boat every day and there are only two students in my class. One of them is – me!

Tamar of Venice is the first book in the Young Lamplighters series, books about children from families who have moved all over the world in order to inspire other Jews. These books will allow young readers to peek into the lives of boys and girls from all around the globe. They will meet children who, together with their parents, are trying to help Jews learn more about their heritage.

Via these first-person accounts, readers will visit the most fascinating places. They will be drawn into these children’s lives and they will learn all about the cities in which they live.
